George Junior High School

Both George Junior High's and Sonora Middle School's EAST programs have each won $15,000 worth of technology for their schools in Samsung's Solve for Tomorrow Competition this year. Both schools are among the top 100 State Winners in the competition. Both schools will move onto the national competition now where the top 20 teams win $50,000 and top 5 win $100,000. George Junior High's project seeks to use Virtual Reality to help Veterans and others who have experienced Phantom Limb Pains after having a limb amputated.

Wranglers, our first home basketball game of the new year is tonight, January 9th. We are playing Siloam Springs and Gentry. If you allow your child to attend, they need to be picked up by 8 pm. Good luck Wranglers!

Outstanding job by all of the GJH Choirs last night at their Winter concert. Our own Assistant Principal, Mr. Jenkins, joined the students on stage narrating "Twas The Night Before Christmas" during the performance. We are so proud of all the hard work and committment put forth by Mr. Jones, Mr. Olson, and all of our choir students!

Wranglers, we have just 5 school days left before the end of first semester and the start of our long winter break! We are going to have some fun and celebrate this week as we take our finals and wrap up our projects. See the picture for the theme each day. See you tomorrow!

Congrats to our outstanding band last night on their amazing Winter concert. The students were joined onstage last night by our own SRO, Office Reynebeau, who joined them for several performances. We are so proud of Mr. Moore, Ms. Baty, and our band students on all their hard work and dedication!

GJHS Wrangler Cheer Team just won the Fayetteville Cheer Competition. First in Jr. High Division and Highest Jr. High Overall Score. Way to go ladies!!

Wrangler Families: Tonight was the last night for tutoring this week. We have Power Lunch on Thur and Fri if students need to finish work before Final Exams. Tutoring is next week, Mon - Wed from 4 - 5 pm. Please encourage your student to attend if they need to finish work.

Welcome Back Wranglers. We are on the last stretch of this semester. It is very important that your student attend every day. Semester Exams are 20% of your student's grade and they need to be present for them. Tests are the week of Dec. 16-20. Finish Strong!

We are so proud of our GJHS band, choir, and orchestra students. Our band had 9 students selected to be a part of the All Region Jazz Band. Their concert will be held on Thursday, December 5th at Springdale High School. Our choir also had 6 students selected to be a part of the SWACDA Honor choir, which will be held in March at the SWACA Conference in Little Rock. Our 4 orchestra students that made the All Region orchestra had their performace last Saturday at Rogers High School.

Huge congratulations to Jessica Palacios-Perez! Jessica competed in the 10th annual Spanish poetry competition at Rogers High School last night and placed 2nd overall in Spanish for Heritage and Native Speakers level 2. She was competing against 10-12 graders! Jessica has a real talent for poetry, and wrote a beautiful poem for the competition that had to follow the theme of "honor, strength, and diversity." For the final round she had to read on stage in the auditorium in front of the whole crowd!

Last night was our annual Wrangler Football Banquet where we celebrate the hard work and dedication these young people displayed this football season. We are extremely proud of these coaches, players, and managers! We are also thankful for the families and fans that helped support this team throughout the season! #FearTheG
